A Very Very Chocolate and Creamy Caramel Moment..
If there’s no chocolate in heaven, I’m not going!
And for now, I can have chocolate on top of everything and anything if I please, with this yummy, creamy, thick and most certainly very chocolatey dessert sauce from Itha’s Gourmet Sauces!
I love it when I find Gluten Free products to be excited about, and excited I am (as you can probably tell).
I reviewed three gorgeous sauces from Itha’s a couple of weeks ago, and I have since discovered another rather delectable couple worth mentioning. Isn’t it lovely when we have Gluten Free choices! Not just one, but several treats made all safe for coeliacs. I certainly think so, and I’ll do my best to convey the deliciousness on “paper”, although I doubt I can do them justice. You really must have a taste!
My first guest today is called Very Very Chocolate, and you really couldn’t give it a better name. It pours out of the jar rich, dark and glossy.. made with real cream, and good enough to eat on its own!
This sauce is a really grow-up chocolate treat. The hint of genuine Australian brandy tempers the intense bittersweetness that we otherwise often find in dark chocolate, and vanilla balances the flavour.
This is a well-rounded and luxurious sauce that pours thick, keeps its shine and can surely be poured over anything from ice cream to fruit. I’ve adorned a handful of vanilla marshmallows for the occasion, and may I tell you they tasted like they were dipped in molten chocolate.. yum!
And there’s more.. I don’t know about you, but I am crazy about caramel!
My favourite sauce on ice cream growing up was always the ooey gooey caramel kind that would harden ever so slightly on my soft serve, and stick to my spoon (and my teeth).
Itha makes an adult version of my childhood favourite by adding that tempting touch of brandy, whilst keeping the overall flavour well-rounded. The alcoholic touch subtly enhances the darkened caramel, and absolutely completes this smooth, thick grown-up gooey goodness!
I figured the Creamy Caramel sauce would make a great addition to a traditional tiramisu, but I couldn’t quite help myself and dunked the Savoiardi biscuits straight into the jar. Oh well, maybe next time!

It’s coming along. I finally got a good camera (at last) which makes a huge difference, and it’s funny what you learn from your mistakes. That being said, all I see now is the mistakes throughout every single photo haha But too picky is a scary game. I’d never finish anything! After all I’m never gonna be a photographer, so good is good enough.
